Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Think of IFS as having an internal ecosystem made up of many different 'parts' of you (also known as sub-personalities). These have their unique role, feelings and motivations. They all have good intentions at heart and are very protective of us. Sometimes their role is to protect us from feeling pain, or getting hurt. At times though, these parts might have adopted ways of coping that may no longer be serving you or the rest of your internal eco-system.
Through therapy, we look at these different parts of you from a compassionate point of view. Doing so helps us gain insight into what might be going on inside. This allows us to become aware of what we can do different to achieve an eco-system that works for you instead of against you. It allows us to find healing and achieve a life that feels fulfilling and that brings joy.
